Higland Trakker: Sibayak & Sipiso-piso

Arrive at Kualanamu International Airport (Medan). Our team will greet you and drive you into the cool highlands of Berastagi (approx. 2.5 hours). As you ascend, the temperature drops and the landscape turns lush with pine forests. Upon arrival, check into your mountain-view hotel. In the late afternoon, visit the Berastagi Fruit Market, a bustling local market where you will find an explosion of colors—rambutan, passionfruit, mangosteen, and the famously pungent durian. It's the perfect place to mingle with locals and taste the highland's bounty. Overnight in Berastagi.

After breakfast, head to the elephant conservation center. You will spend the morning with the Sumatran elephants—helping to bathe them in the river, feeding them, and even taking a short ride through the jungle. The elephants here are rescued and well-cared for, and you will learn about the conservation efforts to protect this critically endangered species.

After a local lunch, embark on a 2-hour jungle trek through the rainforest. Your guide will lead you to a hidden waterfall where you can swim in the cool, clear natural pools surrounded by towering trees and exotic plants. Along the way, spot leaf monkeys, gibbons, and a variety of colorful bird species.

In the late afternoon, the adventure continues with a 1.5-hour river tubing experience. You will sit in a large inner tube and float down the gentle currents of the Batang Kualuh River, passing through lush canyons, listening to the calls of gibbons echoing through the jungle. The current is calm and suitable for beginners, making it a relaxing and magical way to end the day. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and drive east through the scenic highlands towards the magnificent Sipiso-piso Waterfall (approx. 1.5 hours). Unlike any other waterfall in the country, Sipiso-piso plunges from a high cliff directly into a canyon that opens up to the northern tip of Lake Toba. You will hike down the staircase to the base of the waterfall (approx. 30 minutes each way), feeling the cool spray and capturing epic photos of the lake framed by the cascading water. After the hike, enjoy a local lunch at a lakeside restaurant. At the designated time, our team will drive you back to Kualanamu International Airport in Medan (approx. 2.5 hours) for your flight home, concluding your highland hiking adventure.
