Jungle Tubing: Wildlife & River Adventure

Arrive at Kualanamu International Airport (Medan). Our team will greet you and drive you approximately 5-6 hours northwest to Tangkahan, a remote conservation village nestled in the heart of the Leuser Ecosystem. The journey takes you through winding mountain roads and rubber plantations, gradually transitioning into dense rainforest. Upon arrival, check into your simple but comfortable eco-lodge. In the late afternoon, take a gentle walk through the village and along the Batang Kualuh River, getting a first glimpse of the elephants returning to the river for their evening bath. After dinner, your guide will brief you on the next day's elephant interaction and tubing activities. Overnight in Tangkahan.

After breakfast, head to the elephant conservation center. You will spend the morning with the Sumatran elephants—helping to bathe them in the river, feeding them, and even taking a short ride through the jungle. The elephants here are rescued and well-cared for, and you will learn about the conservation efforts to protect this critically endangered species.

After a local lunch, embark on a 2-hour jungle trek through the rainforest. Your guide will lead you to a hidden waterfall where you can swim in the cool, clear natural pools surrounded by towering trees and exotic plants. Along the way, spot leaf monkeys, gibbons, and a variety of colorful bird species.

In the late afternoon, the adventure continues with a 1.5-hour river tubing experience. You will sit in a large inner tube and float down the gentle currents of the Batang Kualuh River, passing through lush canyons, listening to the calls of gibbons echoing through the jungle. The current is calm and suitable for beginners, making it a relaxing and magical way to end the day. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Enjoy a final jungle breakfast. You can take a morning swim in the river, purchase local handicrafts from the village, or simply relax in a hammock while listening to the sounds of the jungle. At the designated time, our team will drive you back to Kualanamu International Airport in Medan (approx. 5-6 hours) for your flight home, carrying the unforgettable memories of Sumatra's gentle giants and wild jungles.
